Durango Code vs Claude Code

Claude Code is Anthropic's coding agent. It runs in the terminal, in the Claude desktop app, on the web, in VS Code and JetBrains, and in CI, and it works with Claude models on a Claude Pro, Max or Ultra plan or an API key.

Durango Code runs Claude Code on your own Claude plan and puts it next to Codex, Cursor, Grok and Kimi. Use Claude for what it's best at, hand subtasks to other providers, and compare their answers side by side.

Which should you choose?

Choose Durango Code if

  • You use Claude Code alongside Codex, Cursor, Grok or Kimi and want them in one window.
  • You want Claude to delegate to other providers: a Claude thread can spawn Codex or Grok subagents.
  • You want to give the same task to Claude and another agent and compare the results.
  • You want a free, MIT-licensed app on top of the plans you already pay for.

Use Claude Code on its own if

  • You only use Claude and want Anthropic's own apps.
  • You want Claude Code on the web or your phone, or in Slack and CI.
  • You rely on Claude Code's cloud sessions, agent view or agent teams.

Questions

Can I use Claude Code inside Durango Code?

Yes. Durango Code runs Claude Code and you sign in with your own Claude plan, so usage counts against the subscription you already have.

Can Claude Code run Codex or Cursor agents?

Not natively: Claude Code's subagents and teams are Claude sessions. In Durango Code, any thread, Claude included, can spawn subagents on other providers such as Codex, Grok, Kimi or Cursor.

Which Claude plan do I need?

Claude Code isn't on Claude's free plan. It's included in Pro ($20/month), Max ($100/month) and Ultra ($200/month), and in Team and Enterprise plans; you can also use an API key.

Is Durango Code an official Anthropic product?

No. Durango Code is an independent, open-source app that runs Claude Code on your own Claude account. It isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Anthropic.

Run Claude Code next to every other agent
