Durango Code vs Cursor
Cursor is an AI code editor built on VS Code, with an Agents Window for running agents locally, in worktrees and in the cloud, plus a CLI. Since August 2026 Cursor is part of SpaceX, and since October it's sold as part of The X Subscription alongside Grok.
Durango Code runs Cursor's agent CLI next to Claude Code, Codex, Grok and Kimi. Keep Cursor as your editor if you like it, and use Durango Code when you want several providers' agents working on the same project.

Which should you choose?
Choose Durango Code if
- You want Claude Code and Codex themselves, on your Claude and ChatGPT plans, not Claude and GPT models billed at API prices.
- You want Cursor's agent next to other providers' agents, splitting work between them.
- You want a free, open-source app rather than another subscription.
Use Cursor on its own if
- You want a full code editor with tab completion and VS Code extensions.
- You want Cursor's cloud agents, triggered from Slack, GitHub or Linear.
- You're happy with one subscription that covers Cursor and Grok.

Questions
Can I use Cursor's agent inside Durango Code?
Yes. Durango Code runs Cursor's agent CLI with your Cursor account, next to Claude Code, Codex, Grok and Kimi.
Does Cursor run Claude Code or Codex?
No. Cursor runs its own agent. It can use Claude and GPT models on its Premium plan and up, billed at API prices from prepaid credit, rather than through your Claude or ChatGPT subscription. Durango Code runs Claude Code and Codex on those subscriptions.
Is Durango Code a code editor like Cursor?

What happened to Cursor's pricing?
Since October 2026 Cursor is sold as part of The X Subscription: Free, Plus ($8/month, Cursor's own models only), Premium ($30), Super ($100) and Ultra ($200). Existing subscribers can keep their earlier plans for now.
